Welcome to this CEU on Equipment: Use, Maintenance, and Calibration. The purpose of this recertification CEU is to be used as an essential information source for the selection, calibration, and upkeep of pesticide application equipment. As such, all equipment decisions must be formulated within the framework of the pesticide label and the site where the application will be made. Special attention must be given to sprayer selection and component compatibility, accurate calibration of the application rate, and applicator responsibility, including the maintenance and cleaning practices that keep equipment accurate over time. • Describe the three factors that determine the application rate and how to calibrate a sprayer step by step.
